A former Williamsport woman living in Stroudsburg was sentenced to one year in federal prison for helping a Saudi man flee the United States with his children, violating a court order.
Cori Lynn Mancuso, 22, was arrested April 1 at JFK International Airport after returning to the United States from Saudi Arabia. Mancuso is not the children’s mother.
Mancuso was immediately taken into custody after the sentencing. She was charged with international parental kidnapping and conspiracy charges in April and pleaded guilty to a count of misprision of felony in October.
According to the U.S. attorney’s office, Majed Sayed, 35, of Saudi Arabia had a custody agreement in the Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas allowing him scheduled visitation. However, he picked up his children for a scheduled visitation and flew to Saudi Arabia. Mancuso lied to the FBI and others about the whereabouts of the children.
Sayed is living in Saudi Arabia with the children, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. An indictment charging him with parental kidnapping and related offenses remains open, official said.
